We are currently developing the "behind the scenes" workings of our CSA Standing Order Membership and shipping our meats to your door. Until our CSA program is ready to go, you can place orders on our web site for delivery to the greater Seattle area, Kennewick or pick up at our store in Walla Walla.

Community Supported Agriculture

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) typically refers to a program whereby members pay an up-front fee to a local farmer, and for the duration of the growing season members receive weekly bags of fresh, often organic vegetables delivered to a drop-off spot in their neighborhood.

In addition to eating terrific food, benefits include knowing and trusting the farmer who grows your food and feeling good about supporting local, sustainable agricultural practices.

Thundering Hooves Meat CSA

Just as in the produce CSA’s you will be supporting a local producer and sustainable farming practices. And, like many CSA’s, you will receive a regular supply of quality food. But, there are also significant differences.

  • You can customize your CSA Standing Order to fit your family’s monthly needs and tastes.
  • You can modify your CSA Standing Order items to better fit your changing needs.
  • You can pay for your CSA Standing Order at the time it ships…No up-front fee!
  • You can edit your shipping schedule…If you are going on vacation simply change your chosen delivery week or skip that month altogether!
  • You can spend more time with your family…your order will be automatically shipped monthly to your home until you choose to postpone or cancel it.
  • You can receive Thundering Hooves meats year-round.

How it works

Customizing your own CSA Standing Order is fast and easy!

Go Shopping…You simply click Go Shopping and browse through our available on-line products. When you click “buy now” on any available item you will see that item’s purchase details page where you will enter a quantity, check ‘Yes’ if you want this item to be part of your CSA Standing Order and click ‘Add to Basket.’

Your Basket… From your shopping basket you may return to shopping or move on to checkout. You will also be able to un-check your CSA choices or remove items from your basket.

Checkout… At the beginning of the checkout process you will be prompted to enter your zip code and choose the week of the month that you want your CSA shipment to be delivered. (Please read Shipping Info for delivery details.) After that, you will fill in your personal information and be prompted to create a password. (You will use this when you come back to shop again, edit your CSA Standing Order items or delivery, or check on your current CSA Standing Order and past invoices.) After you fill in your payment information you will be finished. You will receive a confirmation e-mail and an e-mail notice when we are about to ship your order.

Modifying Your CSA Standing Order

We offer you the most versatile CSA membership available! Not only can you customize your CSA Standing Order, you are able to edit or skip deliveries and add or delete items from your order. By using your e-mail address and the password you created when you first became a CSA Member, you will have access to these simple CSA editing features.

Follow these simple steps when you decide you’d like to make a change to your CSA Standing Order: (You can make changes to your CSA Standing Order up to 1 week prior to your scheduled delivery week.)

Log In… Use your e-mail and password to log into the shopping pages (Click “Go Shopping on the top of any page.)

View your current CSA Standing Orders… Once you are logged in you will see 3 categories in the log in box:

~ CSA Standing Orders
~ Reservations
~ Previous Invoices

Click CSA Standing Orders to view your current order. You will see the items you’ve chosen, the week of the month it will be delivered, and the next month you will receive a delivery.

  • To edit your delivery, click “edit / skip / delete” and follow the prompts.
  • To add an item to your next shipment, simply return to the main shopping page, choose the item you’d like and on the product detail page click “yes, add to my CSA”. You won’t even have to go through checkout! It will automatically be added to your next scheduled shipment.
  • To remove an item, click “edit / skip / delete” and click “remove single item from CSA”.

Once you are logged in you will also have the ability to create a reservation of turkey, chicken and bulk beef, lamb, or goat without having to go through the whole checkout process. You just click on a reserve item and click “Yes, reserve now.”

You may also check the status of current reservations and see past invoice detail.
