After the herd is moving, riders on horses keep the cows moving in the right direction.

Once the first cow enters the gate of the pasture, the rest of the herd follows easily.
Riders follow the herd and separate the cows into 2 separate pastures. This makes it easier to watch them closely during calving time.
These riders are watching the herd settle into the pasture. Behind them, you can see the row of hay loaves that will be fed to the cattle throughout the remainder of winter.

Soon after the move is complete, the cows spread out and explore their new surroundings. They are quick to find fresh green grass growing up through the dried winter pasture.
